Sinopsis

Set in the Amagi Pass in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, this work is based on the theme of "the preciousness of unfading memories" and "eternal atonement." In 1956, Jiro Mochizuki, who runs a printing business in Shizuoka Prefecture, is asked by Tajima, a detective nearing retirement, to print criminal investigation materials. The criminal case includes a description of the murder of a construction worker whose statute of limitations has expired, and involves Otsuka Hana, a prostitute from Shuzenji, and a 14-year-old boy who was spotted near the Amagi Tunnel. Mochizuki recalls that the boy is himself from 31 years ago, and that Hana is his first love. At the time, Hana, who had broken up with Mochizuki, was arrested on suspicion of murdering a construction worker and made statements that seemed to cover for someone else.
